The Renewable Energy Law and Policy Review is launched in the wake of the Copenhagen climate negotiations and the birth of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). It comes in the midst of a global shift toward a clean energy future. Never has there been a time when so much of the world’s attention is focused on the rapidly increasing potential and need for renewable energy. We see signs of it all around us – images of colossal wind turbines and vast solar arrays dominating our landscapes, reports of increasingly extreme weather events and exhortations to reduce our carbon footprint.
