Renewable Energy Law and Policy in Malaysia

Wei Lian Loh, Amin Abdul Majid

Malaysia has recently stepped up its efforts to increase the generation of electricity using renewable resources. These changes come from a clear recognition of the need to diversify the country’s sources of energy and also utilise its abundant renewable resources. The continuation of these efforts indicates that the country is poised to undergo a renewable energy revolution of its own but interested parties would be well advised to pay attention to the challenges present.

Loh Wei Lian and Amin Abdul Majid are Partners of Zaid Ibrahim & Co, Malaysia, a member of the ZICOlaw network.
