Renewable Energy in Spain: Additional Remuneration and Other Issues
In recent years, a new Spanish Renewable Energy Regulation has been passed. Renewables producers may receive an additional remuneration, based on different retributive parameters, among other investment and operating costs. For these purposes power plants are classified in categories, groups and subgroups. The new Self-consumption Regulation is deeply criticised because certain producers receive no remuneration for the electricity shared to the network.
